Dinner at bQ Korea

Recently, we tried Korean food at bQ Korea, located at Far East Square.  It is always crowded at lunch hours but it is easy to get a seat in the evening hours.  It is not an authentic Korean restaurant as the side dishes is a mixture of Chinese, Malay and Western.

For appetisers, we were served 8 small side dishes before our main course arrived.

Ikan Bilis, Steamed Pumpkin with carrots, Kimchi, Steamed & Marinated Zucchini (cucumbers).

Fried toufu with bean paste, Sliced sausages (hotdog) with bean paste, baked potatoes in bean paste, hard boiled egg.

There are lots of main courses to choose from.   Tonkatsu or Pork Cutlet Rice Set (below) is one of the dishes.

The Bean Paste Soup comes with a bowl of rice.  For SGD10, you get a portion of a crab, 2 pieces of prawns, squid, mushrooms, toufu.

The Spicy Rice Cake dish is very very spicy.  Sauce is rather thick.

We had seafood pancake as they have run-out of Kimchi pancake.  It is not crispy enough though.

The shop is located at 70 Telok Ayer Street #01-01 Far East Square, Singapore.  It is located near the famous Tan Hock Seng shop, and facing China Square Central.

It's opening hours are as follows:
Mon–Fri: 11.30am–2.30pm, 5.30pm–9.30pm
Sat: 11.30am–9.30pm
(Closed on Sundays)

Celebrating our Move to a New Level

We moved into our new office on 17 February 2012 evening.  We had a small celebration party in our new office a few days ago, co-ordinated by the Admin department. A mini buffet was organised for the staff and guests from other departments.

The main dish of the party was this big roasted suckling pig.  When the tray (containing the pig) arrived at the office, the smell was so fragrant that staff sitting at extreme corners of the office could even smell it.  It even causes some of the stomachs to growl ! :)

There was a variety of food served at the mini-buffet --- samosas, makis, fruit salad, deep fried spring rolls, dry mee siam, fried carrot cake, steamed buns, soon-kuehs, etc.  Everyone voted the fried carrot cake as the best dish !!  I simply love it.  It's soft and tasty - fried and served with lots of garlic.

I love the fruit salad.  It's refreshing and delicious.
